Club Walk on Sunday 12th October

Our October walk was something a little different as we combined it with a visit to the Gorge du Verdon. Some members, led by Peter, had done the walk 6 years ago and recounted a very successful visit.

Unfortunately, as happens from time to time, there were things not planned for and on this occasion it was an oil spill at the hydroelectric dam upstream from Quinson and the Prefect of Var, is his wisdom, decided that this should mean the closure of all walking trails in that area. How an oil spill on the river can affect the walking trails we could not fathom.

However, and luckily, Will had encountered someone who lived in Quinson and was able to recommend another walk not affected by the ban. So a change of plan but often that is a positive and we did indeed have an enjoyable walk in the area of Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon and the Lac d'Artignosc. Many thanks to Will and his friend Jim for saving the day.

Our regular walks will recommence in November so watch this space for details.
